Your journey begins

Day 1 - 5

Cape Town

Future Found Sanctuary - Villa Verte

The best hideaway in the city, Future Found Sanctuary’s Villa Verte is tucked away on the slopes above the Hout Bay valley. Surrounded by blooming gardens and a mere ten minutes from one of Cape Town’s most popular pristine beaches, Llandudno, you’ll find tranquillity here. However, you’re also a mere 30 minutes from the cosmopolitan Cape Town city centre, promising fine dining restaurants and entertainment galore. The Villa itself is fully serviced and overlooks the mesmerising folds of the surrounding mountains and greenery of the flourishing gardens. A modern, artistic masterpiece, it’s adorned with bespoke furniture and contemporary artwork for a chic city escape. And with four suites, it’s perfect for a group travelling together.

Why we recommend

  • Suites designed to incorporate the surrounding landscape, with sweeping views of the expansive mountains and sky from every room.
  • Tranquillity is key here to reconnect and rejuvenate your soul.
  • A private estate with a truly exceptional design by architect Thomas Leach, sensitive to the surrounding forest and mountain peaks.
  • Ideally located for easy access to the Constantia Winelands, Cape Point, and the city centre and Atlantic Seaboard attractions.

Day 5 - 8

Thornybush

The Farmhouse at the Farmstead

So much indoor and outdoor space collide at the Farmstead, offering plenty of room to yourself that you’ll feel as if you’re on a planet of your own. The Farmstead is elevated, offering incredible bush views — the picture-perfect backdrop when enjoying a sundowner on the vast deck. With contemporary African artwork adorning the walls, you’ll have something to admire at all times, both outdoors and indoors. The property has three luxurious suites, as well as The Farmhouse. The latter is a three-and-half bedroom private villa, making it perfect for a group of friends or family travelling together.

Why we recommend

  • The Farmhouse has its own private services, including a chef, housekeeper, butler, private safari vehicle, ranger and tracker.
  • A magnificent deck with a large swimming pool flowing out into the bush.
  • Children of all ages are welcome in the Farmhouse.
  • Exceptional Big 5 game viewing in the Thornybush Private Game Reserve

Day 8 - 11

Victoria Falls

Matetsi River House

If exclusivity is what you long for, Matetsi River House private villa will exceed your expectations. Here a dedicated team will look after you and your friends and family around the clock. At Matetsi Victoria Falls, it’s all about the small moments we like to refer to as Matesti Magic. It was the Gardiner family’s vision to showcase everything exceptional about their home country, Zimbabwe. This was realised by shining a light on local artisans and creating a conservation legacy for future generations.  From the distinctly African interior design to the warm hospitality our home soil is known for, Matesti Victoria Falls is the ultimate base for exploring the Falls and wildlife-packed landscapes. Here you will experience riverside living at its finest, with the mighty Zambezi lulling you to sleep.

Why we recommend

  • The ultimate in seclusion and privacy, Matetsi River House is a luxury home-away-from-home for families or friends travelling together.
  • A dedicated team, including a private chef, butler and guide and tracker with a private safari vehicle at your disposal to ensure a tailor-made safari unlike any other.
  • The Victoria Falls, also known as Mosi-oa-Tunya (the Smoke that Thunders), is one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World.
  • Matetsi Private Game Reserve has 15 km of exclusive river frontage and is set on 136,000 acres of pristine bush, ensuring a truly exclusive safari experience.

Frequently Asked Questions

An average between low and high season pricing has been used to create an average cost as a rough indication only. Seasonal and tactical offers and deals exist at most of the properties in our featured African itineraries. We have not included these in the calculations for now and will apply them according to the dates and season you want to travel. Please enquire for exact pricing for your intended travel dates.
All year round is good for Victoria Falls and the Greater Kruger National Park areas although for Cape Town, the main rainy season falls in June and July. Victoria Falls can be very humid in October and the main rainy season for both Victoria Falls and Greater Kruger Park falls between November and February. This period however, which is known as the “Green Season”, is also a wonderful time to visit and is the main birding season where migratory species can also be seen. In the Victoria Falls area, the ‘Low Water’ period runs between August and January and is at its lowest between November and early December. The best views of the falls at this time will be Devil’s Cataract which is permanent and on the Zimbabwean side of Victoria Falls.
All locations on this tour are considered malaria areas and we advise the use of anti-malarial prophylactics year-round. Consult your travel doctor for advice at least three weeks before departure to Africa.
Cape Town is far from being “just” a city destination and one of the many reasons that travelers choose to visit Cape Town is its abundance of scenic beauty and natural attractions. The city itself is situated between the Atlantic Ocean and Table Mountain, one of the world’s Seven Wonders of Nature, however, attractions such as the scenic Cape Winelands, Cape Town’s numerous white sandy beaches, the Cape Pensinsula and activities such as whale watching and shark diving, are all found within a 2 hour radius of Cape Town. In addition, Cape Town is also considered South Africa’s culinary capital and is a veritable foodie paradise.
Game viewing at Matetsi Victoria Falls is exceptional and the Sabi Sand Game Reserve is Southern Africa’s premier private safari destination and synonomous with frequent sightings of the elusive leopard. The reserve is a “Big 5” reserve, so you can expect to see the rest of the Big 5 as well, including lion, elephant, rhino and wildebeest.
